How do I enter a Quiz? The current quizzes and entry forms are on the website. You can download them and send your completed entry form to us by post with the entry fee before the specified deadline, or you can email us the answers by the deadline. In order to email your entry you can either print, fill in, and scan the entry form and attach it to an email to us, or provide all the information to us in the body of the email to avoid attachments if you prefer.

Do I have to pay in advance? No, you just have to pay for each quiz when you send us your completed entry form. 

How do I pay electronically? When we receive your emailed entry we will send you an email with a link for you to click on enabling you to pay via Paypal. You can then use a credit or debit card (or Paypal account if you have one, but it doesn’t matter if you don’t). You give your card details to Paypal, NOT to us, so it is a safe secure method of payment which is very simple to use and you don’t need to set up a Paypal account. Paypal is secured using Verisign digital certificates. Check for the padlock in your browser to ensure you are fully secure.

 

Do I have to enter every month? No, but there is an extra prize for the team with the highest points total in the general knowledge quiz at the end of the calendar year, so the more months you enter the better chance you will have of winning that.

 

 

How much will the prizes be? The prize fund for each division of the general knowledge quiz will be published as each quiz begins, and each division’s fund will be divided between the teams that get the most correct answers in that division. As more teams enter - the prize fund will increase. The prize fund for the picture quiz will be published as each new quiz begins, and that will be divided equally between everyone who achieved the most correct answers. In the event of multiple prize winners we guarantee that the prize will always exceed the entry fee.

 

How will I receive my prize if my team wins? We will check with you at the time if you would prefer to receive a cheque or be paid via Paypal. Then your prize will be paid immediately the deadline for challenging answers has passed.

 

How does the league work? This only applies to the general knowledge quiz. The league leaders will obviously be the team that has had the most correct answers during the calendar year. This is to determine which team wins the end of year league leader prize. When we have enough regular entrants, each month teams will be placed into divisions determined by their previous month’s result. Division 1, which will have the largest prize fund, will be made up of the previous month’s highest scoring teams. Division 2 will be the next highest, and so on. For the first few quizzes all teams will be in the same division. As the number of entrants increases the number of divisions will increase.

 

What division will I be in if I didn’t enter the previous month’s quiz? You will be in the lowest division. When we have enough teams taking part there will be a special division for new-comers and returning teams.

 

What if I dispute an answer? You can challenge our answer by the deadline given in the published timetable. You must provide evidence (your reference source), and if we have made a mistake we will rectify it and amend your result accordingly.

 

Do I receive my answer sheet back? No. You will receive an email telling you the answers and your score. You will need to keep a record of your answers.

 

What if I think that a question is unclear? You can contact us via email or voicemail and explain your concern. We will acknowledge your query via email, and investigate. If we think that a clarification is required we will post an amendment on the website but we will not confirm whether any answer is correct.

What if I find more than one spelling for the answer?  Provided that the alternate spelling can be substantiated and has exactly the meaning requested then the spelling will be accepted.
