How it works

General knowledge quizzes comprising 100 questions, and picture quizzes comprising 40 questions will be held monthly, with cash prizes

On the date specified in the timetable on the website the new quizzes will begin, and the questions and entry sheet will be published on the website. Teams can then print and complete the entry form, and return to us, by post , with the monthly fee, or send the answers by email.

The answers must be legible and unambiguous, or will be declared invalid.

On the date specified, we will email the answers to all entrants along with their results, and the league tables for the general knowledge quiz will be posted onto the website. Answers will ONLY be available to teams that have paid the monthly fee.

Any challenges to the answers or results must be made by the specified deadline, via email or voicemail and will be resolved within 24 hours. (Please note however that if our question was not specific enough and it therefore transpired that there was more than one correct answer, or if there was more than one spelling of the same answer we would mark them all as correct anyway).

 

At the end of the year there will be a special prize for the team that finishes at the top of the league in the general knowledge quiz.

 

Timetable

The timetable of dates will be published, in advance, on the website. It will include the date when each new quiz will begin. Also the date by which the answers must be posted or emailed and the absolute deadline by which we must receive the completed entry form and the fee— if either of these dates are exceeded then the entry will be void and the money will be returned.

The timetable will also show the date that the answers, results and up-to-date league tables will be available and the date by which any challenges to the result must be made.

 

Fees and Prizes

For the general knowledge quiz -

The fee for each quiz is £12. This can be paid by cheque, made payable to WhatQuiz, or by credit/debit card or Paypal.

There will be a minimum guaranteed Prize fund, specified at the time each new quiz begins. This will be increased in line with the number of entries, if we receive more entries than we were expecting.

The prize fund will be split into first, second and third prizes.

 

Because we can’t know in advance how many people will be getting equal top marks, or how many people will  be equal second etc. we cannot specify in advance the exact amount that each prize will be. We will just guarantee a minimum prize fund, which will be increased if possible as specified above, and we will guarantee that the prize fund will be shared fairly, so that the highest scorers win more than the second highest scorers etc. We will also guarantee that no winner will ever win less than the entry fee.

Prizes will be paid immediately to the team captain by cheque, or Paypal if preferred.

 

For the picture quiz -

The fee for each quiz is £4, or £2 if accompanied by an entry for the General Knowledge quiz. This can be paid by cheque, made payable to WhatQuiz, or by credit/debit card or Paypal.

There will be a Prize fund, specified at the time each new quiz begins, which will be divided equally between all entrants who get the highest number of correct answers.

Prizes will be paid immediately by cheque, or Paypal if preferred.
